Why I won't ever go to the "Terme di Pre Saint Didier"

and why I recommend you to never go there neither.

As  I said in my previous posts, over new year I went for a week of skiing in Valle d'Aosta. Skiing - or to be more precise snowboarding - was actually the main and only reason of the trip there, but of course I had the chance to take some photos. What wasn't really planned was to go to the thermal baths.
Let's face it, after a week of snowboarding and just before a full day in the car to drive back home, I kind of felt I deserved a relaxing day in a thermal bath.

And there started a very annoying adventure.

Being the Xmas and new year's vacation peak I was smart enough (as suggested on their website) to call the day before to book and entrance for two at the Terme di Pre Saint Didier.
A lady told me that there were no available slot, and I had to call the morning after to be put on the waiting list.
The morning after I call for 2 places on the waiting list, and a very unfriendly receptions guarantees me that I'll be called back shortly - during the day - to be informed about my turn to enter the thermal baths.

Luckily we decided to step out of the door anyway and visit the city while waiting for the call.

Around 15, after lunch, I still hadn't heard anything from them, so I called once again just to check. "Sir, there's no need to call us - told me an annoying voice over the phone - we'll get back to you shortly".

We decide to start driving round on the mountains for a while, and head-off towards the Terme di Saint Didier. At 18 I'm actually standing outside their door, together with at least another 50 people waiting to get in. no less that 20 people were already waiting in the lobby, and from what I could see from my position both the hammam and the heated outdoor pool looked like the standing area under a stage of a rock festival - if you attend a rock festival with a sole swimsuit.

I tried once again, desperately to get in contact by phone with the receptionist, mainly to express my disappointment in their way to treat customers: just as a clarification, the entrance fee was 52 eur per person, I guess that a polite "we are sorry sir, but there will be no way for you to enter the thermae tomorrow" would have been a much more appreciated reply, especially from a trained receptionist of a thermal bath that charges you 52eur for a single entrance. Unfortunately I didn't manage to get them on the phone, they simply let it ring for minutes until the line went off. Several times. Even after another half an hour.

I can absolutely understand that showing up on the most crowded week of the year wasn't the smartest move ever: you'd like to go to such a place in order to relax and not to fight for a dry towel.
But the unprofessional way of treating their customers should be accepted, by anybody.

By the way, I'm still waiting for their call-back, or text as rumors were spreading around outside the entrance door.

Did anything like this ever happened to you?
