A couple of books I strongly recommend you

No, I'm not changing the main subject in here: I'll mainly always write about travels - the ones I've the occasion to do - and photos I happened to take - mainly while traveling. I also happened to catch planes quite often for several reasons, but also because I simply like to fly.
And it's exactly while flying during the last Xmas vacation that I had the occasion to read a couple of book I strongly recommend you to put on your "to read list".

Just minor parenthesis before getting there: as you might know I'm a kind of tech-geek, I love computers, smartphones and similars, but when it comes down to reading I'm still a paper-dependent. I guess that it's due to the fact that 90% of the books/what I read are comic-books and - please Amazon forgive me for what I'm going to say - digital comic-books suck. I don't know if it's because of the colors (I already have a KindleFire, maybe with the HD is better, but I doubt) or because of the different format that comes tricky to reproduce on a 7-8-10 inches touch screen. I tried several times to read e-books and I enjoyed the possibility to carry my whole bookshelf with me wherever I was traveling, but I usually read a book at the time. I also hate the fact that you can't use e-book readers during airborne and landing - that on a short haul flight is half of the time... - so I still buy and read paperback books.
Parenthesis into the parenthesis: I'm a comic-books fanatic, so I tend to not take my comic-books outside or on a trip because they might get damaged... so that's why, on the road, I usually read normal books.

The first one I suggest you is actually a series of books: the one I read was actually the last one of the series I started over 2 years ago, and I really think it's worth every single page of the whole bunch!
What am I talking about? I'm talking about Adam Douglas' series last episode: Mostly Harmless. To make it right you should actually start from the Hitchhiker's' guide to the galaxy, and then all the way to the end through the other three episodes of the series: The restaurant at the end of the universe, Life the universe and everything and  So long and thanks for the fish. I found all of them, but in particular the first and last episode, really enjoyable and easy to read, full of comedy and funny jokes. In addition to that they're extremely cheap and with final page number in the order of 200 they're the perfect traveling companions for short trips.

The second one "is the one"! Since I started reading it few days after Xmas I simply couldn't stop! I got like trapped in it, willing to go on reading at any time of the day - and almost of the night! What I suggest you to read is The hundred years old man who climbed out of the window and disappeared, by Jonas Jonasson. I read it in the English translation because in Swedish I'd probably not have understood a single line, but I can guarantee you that you'll have a really good time following this old man and his friends during their adventures, and discovering page after page the very astonishing and interesting life he lived for over 100 years on this world. A mix of comedy and history that will draw a smile on your face several times before you'll reach the end of the book.

The last entry of this very short list is for Andre Agassi's Open: an autobiography. I loved Agassi as a tennis player, and after reading his biography I admire him even more. If you're interested in tennis and you'd like to seat with on a bench with him while he tells you the story of his life, of his career and his hate for the sport that made him what he is, then you simply can't miss this astonishing piece of literature!

Did you already have the chance to read them? What do you think about?
And, btw, any inputs from your side on what to read while traveling around and taking pictures?
