Still few weeks ago, when spring was a far away season on the calendar (honestly, looking outside the window right now I'd say that there are at least 2 months before spring comes... but that's another story), I happened to have on my dining table a very nice flower bouquet!
I must say that I really tried to grab some nice pictures of it, but for a reason or another none of the shot really popped-out...
So, after few trials, I decided to put on my Sigma 105mm, f/2.8 macro lens and concentrate on small details.
I really love the limited depth of field, and the geometric shape of the rose.
Just in order to add a bit of interest in the frame, I put dome water droplets on the flower: I think that for the future I should get a water spray instead of creating these huge drops
Somehow I think it worked out better with the sunflower: higher colour contrast, trapped water drop and crisp reflection in the water
Just before putting away my gear, I decided to try out for the first time a macro focus-staking. Of course the result is much more detailed and with a greater depth of field than with a single macro shot, but I'm not so convinced that the result is better.
What do you think? Focus-staking or regular macro?
