And finally winter arrived

Not so many weeks ago I was complaining on these pages about the fact that - until then - the real cold winter didn't show up yet! And now - finally! - chilly days and nights brought some snow and real winter feelings!

As always good and bad aspects go together: the nice white powder covering the European alps tops is also falling at lower altitudes bringing up quite some problems! Just few days ago I spent a long afternoon in Luxembourg airport waiting for my delayed flight that in the end got cancelled because of the closed runaway due to the heavy snow... luckily I arrived at destination some hours later with another flight, a bit tired, a bit annoyed but that's life! When you are often on the road, or in my case in the air, you know that these kind of things happen and there's not so much to do but waiting.

 But if that was the downside, the good thing is that during the last days I've been waking up wit a spectacular view over the Italian/French alps completely covered in snow!

If you also wake up early enough and decide to step out when the temperatures are still quite below 0 degrees, you can also enjoy the very characteristic pink tones of the sunrise reflecting on the snow.

Checking the calendar, winter still owns several weeks: let's see what else it will bring us!
