Also this last 31st December I was in Aosta for celebrating the passage to the new year.Unfortunately, as I had the chance to already write about in my previous posts, the snow condition wasn’t really great… and in addition to that, it seemed like whole Europe was in Valle d’Aosta!
Both on the 1st and 2nd January I simply didn’t manage to ski because of too many people around in the ski resorts.
Just give a look at this snapshot I also shared on Instagram
On the other hand I had the chance to walk around in Aosta city.
Just few steps outside the pedestrian city center I couldn't avoid noticing that it was plenty of music academies and school, all around the concert hall.
Anywhere in Aosta you still feel in a medieval city, where on the backside of a castle you can find a soccer field
Small narrow passages are covered by arcs in the very kernel of the old town
According to a sign in that passage, without those arcs the surrounding buildings would have fallen long time ago!
Xmas decoration and markets last pretty long here in Aosta, roughly until the end of January when the over-traditional S. Orso two-days celebration takes place. This year it will be the 1015th!
