Is it really winter?

I know, I know, I know, the seasons are not any more what they used to be, mid-seasons disappeared and global warming will kill us all....

I'm really not a global catastrophe supporter, but as a matter of fact if you now try to go skiing on the Italian Alps, the most winter activity you can probably come up with is drinking a hot chocolate, for the rest hiking, sun bathing and flowers picking is what you'll end up doing all day long!
Don't you believe me? Take a look at this shot I've published on Instagram while flying over the Swiss/Italian Alps

Btw, might you want to keep up with my Instagram, you can follow me here.

So, as you can imagine, lately I've avoided the pain of driving up on the mountains to the ski resorts and I simply hanged around at lower altitudes, mainly next to the lake - the Lago Maggiore, what else?

These days have also been characterized by a very warm and strong wind that turned the lake - usually very calm - into a wavy small-sized sea. It's not really a sea, it's a sweet water lake, there's no salt involved and rivers flow in and out, so it's not a sea at all, but you got what I mean....
Getting down on the lake side, you could really see and feel the energy of those waves!

When I turned my camera around I couldn't avoid noticing that those waves actually gathered the attention also of non-human spectators

Looking at the light and colours you couldn't really say that we are still in full winter, and the well above 15 degrees temperatures made you think summer is just behind the corner. Maybe the only sign remembering us that there are still few months before real summer will come is the early sunset hour.
But would you really call this a winter sunset?
