I tried to make a "new WindowsXP wallpaper"

Few months ago, when Microsoft announced that WindowsXP maintenance was stopping, a big noise arose around it's well known default wallpaper. Yes, you know what I'm talking about, you've seen it millions of times in your life.

Several articles and comments were written about "how bad" that wallpaper was from a "professional-photographic-point-of-view"...
Honestly I wasn't never bothered by the burned-off highlights in the clouds or other close-to-non-sense bad remarks about this picture.

Anyway, few days ago, wile wondering around in Italy, I saw a couple of scenes that remembered me about the WindowsXP wallpaper. So I decided to take out my tripod an take some shots.
Ok, the hills, the color of the sky and the shapes of the clouds are completely different, but honestly I found it extremely difficult to come up with something so soft, rhythmic and pleasant like the default WindowsXP wallpaper....

I would sincerely like to see some trials of all those people who were complaining about the quality of said wallpaper.... but I feel like they won't really show anything....
