I already discussed about it in a previous post: the camera body is just one variable into getting great pictures, you are always the main actor, but the lenses do roughly half the job!
And in such an economy, the kit lenses that are usually coming together with the Nikon D3200 are not really the best ones on the market... The Nikkor 18-55mm 3.6-5.6G is just fine to understand how your camera works, and let you take some decent shots, but it's not the lens that will let you take the next NationalGeographic front page picture...
So, while looking for something "better", but still being pretty careful at not spending a fortune, I ordered the Nikkor 35mm 1.8G and the Nikkor 55-200mm 4-5.6G. Getting them in the right places, you can almost stay under 200-240$ for the two of them.
Honestly the 35mm is the one I really wanted, the 55-200 came more as a "I'm already buying the 35, why not a longer range zoom?".
Now that the fall colours arrived, I'll for sure make use of these glasses to take some nice picture, but for the moment I only had the occasion to play a bit in low light situation, where probably you can appreciate more the value of the 35mm with it's wide aperture (compared to the other two).
Nikkor 35mm 1.8G - 1/20s, f/1.8, ISO 800
Nikkor 55-200mm 4-5.6G - 1/6s, 165mm, f/5.3, ISO1600
Nikkor 18-55mm 3.6-5.6G - 1/3s, 35mm, f/5, ISO800
